As much as possible, Tiny Meadow Farm produces our own seed stock of local-origin native wildflowers and grasses. We also research seed origin when purchasing seeds from other conservation growers.
Native plants, if properly sited in the garden, require less supplemental fertility and are tolerant of pests and diseases. Proper plant selection allows you to garden organically using your native soil.
We grow seasonally, without supplemental heat in the winter. This allows us to produce hardy first-year plants for fall establishment and vernalized second-year plants for spring planting.
Every seed contains its own unique genetic package. By growing from seeds, we ensure that the cultivated landscape includes plants that possess the genetic diversity to adapt to a changing world.
