Our spring plants are ready and resting peacefully in winter dormancy!

When grown from seed, most native perennials do not flower in their first season. By producing our spring crops in the previous year, and holding them through winter, we can offer small plants—including 3” plugs—that will begin to flower in the first season they are planted out. We encourage the use of small plants in the home landscape because they are affordable, easy to plant, and equally useful for filling small gaps or covering a large area.

The biggest challenge for gardeners when it comes to planting plugs is the waiting—waiting out the first summer with few plants flowering. Our nursery absorbs that time into our production schedule, so you can start with small plants in spring and still experience a bountiful garden right away.

Plants often sell out quickly in spring and we understand how frustrating it can be to try and find the specific plants you want. Simply place a pre-season order in our online shop and choose your pickup date and location at checkout. In May, you will receive an email reminder when your order is ready for pickup. Orders will be packed and labeled by last name. Our pickup hours are the same as our nursery retail hours, so you are welcome to browse, shop, and learn about other plants when you pickup your order.

Some of the species we produce are not available for advance ordering. These plants will be available for purchase when the nursery opens in spring. In May, additional plants can be ordered off our weekly availability, or they can be purchased at our farm during your pickup window hours.

Any orders that are not picked up on the selected date will be held for one week before plants are returned to available inventory. We do not offer refunds for any orders that are not picked up.

Occasionally, some plants do not fare well during overwintering. We will communicate with you as soon as possible if there are any changes to your order. We can make recommendations for appropriate substitutions or offer a full refund for any plants that are not ready by the selected pick-up date.
