Plants have ethereal white flowers which are contrasted by the stems and calyces, both of which can be tinged with red. The bloom period lasts just a few weeks, but is a welcome addition to the garden in late spring. In fall, the foliage has another moment, turning various hues of bronze and red. This species also goes by the name Porteranthus
