Liatris aspera
Liatris aspera | rough blazing star
Rough blazing star is a beautiful Liatris that, like others in the genus, has nectar-rich lavender flowers that are highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and possibly hummingbirds. It blooms late and prefers average to dry soils, making it a great companion to little bluestem, butterfly milkweed, and showy goldenrod. Blooming begins at the top of the spike; useful as a cut flower. Drought tolerant.
