Rudbeckia laciniata
Rudbeckia laciniata | cutleaf coneflower
This native coneflower is tall and robust and best used in an area where a large patch is desired. It is one that will spread quickly into a large dense stand, and works best in tall meadows or areas where quick colonization is desired, such as a large area formerly occupied by invasive species. This one prefers moist soils and partial shade and is often found in open woods, on streambanks, and in meadows.
Large lobed leaves are held on strong stems that can easily reach 6’ tall or more, creating a tall and solid display of bright yellow flowers in late summer.
