Rudbeckia laciniata | cutleaf coneflower

This native coneflower is tall and robust and best used in an area where a large patch is desired. Easily reaching 6’ tall or more, Rudbeckia laciniata quickly creates a solid display of bright yellow flowers in late summer. It is a species that will spread quickly into a large dense stand, and works best in tall meadows or areas where quick colonization is desired, such as a large area formerly occupied by invasive species. This one prefers moist soils—especially if sited in full sun—and is often found in open woods, on stream banks, and in meadows. A strong grower, even in part shade.
