Solidago nemoralis | gray goldenrod

Gray goldenrod is a frequent inhabitant of old fields throughout New England and the entire northeast. Typically growing to just 2’ or less, this one prefers full sun paired with well-draining soils. Sand, gravel, rocks, no problem!—this one is commonly found growing in lean soils where other plants struggle. Great paired with northeastern beardtongue, little bluestem and spotted beebalm.
